We celebrate our 20th year in existence in 2019 and we have some very exciting plans ahead. We will save all the information on that for another blog.

Video Speaks Volumes Workshop

Our first event takes place this Thursday, 27th September in The Villa Rose Hotel 9.30am – 2pm€10 (plus small Eventbrite fee) including tea/coffee/snacks

Benefits of using Irish Language in your Business Workshop

Following on, the next event on our calendar is Benefits of using Irish Language in your Business Workshoptakes place on Thursday, 11th October 2018, 10am– 4pm at The BASE Enterprise Centre, Railway Road, Stranorlar.

This FREE event has been funded by Bliain na Gaeilge 2018 Donegal County Council Department of Arts, Heritage and Gaeltacht Affairs Creative Ireland.

  • Learn key phrases and how to include Irish on your website and signage
  • Irish in social media and marketing – it’s easy!
  • Information on funding available to promote Irish language in your business


Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha

Laoighseach (it rhymes with ‘Taoiseach’) Ní Choistealbha is originally from Lifford in East Donegal attended NUI Galway from the years 2012-2017. She now works as a Research Assistant in the same institution.​Laoighseach has received several awards ​and hosted the Union of Students in Ireland first Language Conference in Queen’s University Belfast and stood as manager over an LGBT+ dictionary project which garnered the organisation a European Language Label award.


Caitlín Ní Bhroin

A native Irish speaker who has 20 years’ experience in teaching adults and has taught in various academic institutions, businesses and public offices.
Caitlín’s approach to promoting Irish is to inform speakers in a relaxed and informal manner. She positively and patiently encourages participants to practice and enjoy speaking Irish. Tá spraoi sa Ghaeilge.

Irish is the theme of the month as we have another event again in Octoberthis time in conjunction with Údarás na Gaeltachtain the gteic Centre Gweedore Wednesday, 24th October, 10am- 2pm (registration at 9.30am)  Cost €10.


We are partnering with our friends in Gweedore to highlight the great services they have in the area and to provide a great networking event for all you Donegal Women in Business Network.


A number of our members will be speaking on the day. Various areas relating to women in business will be covered such as Diaspora returning to set up in business in the county, mammy in the home  what happens when the kids grow up, glass ceilings is it possible to break through them and meet a Shopify expert who  built her business in the Donegal Gaeltacht.

Their stories will deliver an insight in how they started out in business and the issues they faced along the way.

We are running our successful joint Christmas Craft Fairagain in The BASE Enterprise Centre with all the team from in The BASE which will be taking place on Saturday, 17thNovember.

Next year will be a year of celebration, training, networking at our Looking Back Moving Forwardconference and an opportunity for all members to network and grow their business through the Donegal Women in Business Network.
