Jo Daly here, President of Donegal Women in Business Network.
We are having our AGM shortly, and after a journey of 6 years, some of the committee members are leaving (but they are not going too far!!). We are looking for new people or former committee members to join our committee, to help build on the work that has been completed.
We are looking for people with new ideas and enthusiasm to bring it to the next level. It would involve attending about 9 meetings a year and giving your time to implement/oversee ongoing projects. Typically, this will take 1-2 hours per week. The meetings are normally held in the evening and last for about an hour. The primary role of the committee member is to contribute ideas to ensure the ongoing growth of the Network. We have a number of roles available on the committee…. something to suit all skills and interests.
We have missed the interactions and the camaraderie of physical events but nonetheless our membership has grown significantly in strength during the period of Covid. We have some exciting plans for 2022 and we need you to make them happen.
There are lots of benefits to becoming actively involved in a dynamic local business Network. As a group, the committee has enjoyed great online sessions and learnt so much from each other in the past year. Joining a committee can broaden your exposure and get your business known by more people. Many of our members work alone or in a small business, and by becoming a committee member it allows you to develop new skills, work as part of a team, and share resources and knowledge.
We need the right people with the right skills, and the right experience, but most of all we need people with lots of enthusiasm.
If you would like to express an interest in joining the committee, please let us know by Friday, 11th March, contact Caitríona Sinnott on 087 3560999 or click the link below and we will be in contact.
