Donegal Women In Business Network Do Facebook Live!
The Donegal Women in Business Network created a first in the past 20 years of it being in existence when it streamed the recent networking session on Facebook live at Jackson’s Hotel on 30th January. The Marketing Motivation & Planning Your Business for 2018 lasted just over two hours and the feedback was excellent.
Most people in the room seemed to forget that the camera was running and that people were watching. In fact, over the next few days they continued to watch and the analytics proved what Facebook has been saying – to continue getting your reach – video, and in particular video live, is the answer.
Many of the members on the night took the opportunity to speak live about their business and then shared it on their social media.
Stitchit Bernie – 0:00 “Great evening meeting new ladies and swapping business stories, very nerve, racking speaking in front of them all, but a great event.”
Keenaghan Collaborative – 7:42 “Thanks everyone for an inspiring evening and for the opportunity to tell you a bit about what I do.”
Those who couldn’t attend left messages of thanks for the opportunity to watch live.
Brenda Doherty – 31:21 “Couldn’t make it tonight so this was great! I’ll definitely make the next meeting.”
Elaine Frances Lingard – 6:28 “Looks like you guys had a great time. Shame I couldn’t make this one. Great to watch it live”
Evelyn Mc Glynn from Evelyn Mc Marketing and the marketing and communications office for Donegal Women in Business Network delivered a motivating talk on how business is a bit like going on holidays. The research, planning, and then actually doing it – when you get on a plane and go do it and then finally promoting it from the pool with your cocktail in hand, snapchatting and telling all your friends what a great time you are having!
Evelyn told the group that only when you bring some WOW into your promoting of your holiday will you get people to take a greater interest in your antics. Bungee jumping, beach parties and parachute jumping will certainly create great discussion with those back home in Ireland.
This is also true of business. Until you create some Marketing Wow in your marketing strategy, you won’t get people to get excited about your product or service.
After the event Evelyn created a hashtag #DonegalMarketingWow and is encouraging everyone to use it when they are on social media by posting their latest marketing ideas or business accomplishments.
The next Donegal Women in Business Network event is a Business Start Up and Exhibition to celebrate International Women’s Day and is part of Donegal Local Enterprise Business week.
